Kai Jones, a sophomore pre-med student from Tulsa, Oklahoma, began working in the Strassmann/Queller lab in 2011 as a part of the Eureka program. Her first project with Dictyostelium involved testing the hypothesis that there would be more diversity in areas with dense leaf litter as opposed to grassy areas. She currently works under Debbie Brock on a project that tests the effect of nutrient content in media on farmer versus non-farmer D. discoideum.
Outside of lab, Kai enjoys studying and volunteering at Ranken-Jordan Hospital planning parties for the children. She is also an avid golfer and an Oklahoma City Thunder fan.
